Analysis of Test Experiment of Liquid Moisture Management Tester

The liquid moisture management tester (MMT) mainly tests the absorption and diffusion performance of sweat in the fabric. The absorption and diffusion of sweat by the fabric directly affects the comfort performance of clothing. In order to improve the comfort of clothing (especially sportswear fabrics), test The liquid moisture management ability of fabrics is very important, which helps to evaluate the moisture absorption and quick-drying properties of textiles and improve the material properties. The Liquid Moisture Management Tester is used to measure the overall dynamic performance of liquids in knitted and woven fabrics, by testing the absorption speed (water absorption time on the front and back of the fabric), unidirectional transmission capacity (liquid absorption and diffusion on both sides of the fabric) difference), spreading/drying speed (spreading speed of liquid on both sides of the fabric). The liquid moisture management tester includes upper and lower concentric liquid sensors with multiple probes. The infusion tube in the upper sensor evenly drips a fixed concentration of saline that simulates human sweat onto the cloth. The sensor probes test the difference between different rings. Resistance, the change of resistance reflects the absorption and diffusion of liquid in the fabric, so as to obtain the ability of the fabric to absorb and diffuse sweat. Applicable standards: AATCC 195, GB/T 21655.2 Main parameters: 1. Communication interface: wireless WiFi; 2. Voltage and current: 110V~230V, 50Hz/60Hz, 0.5A; 3. Test environment: 18℃ to 40℃, 20% to80% (non-condensing); 4. Pumping time: 20sec; 5. Test liquid delivery volume: 0.2g+/-0.01g (user can fine-tune); 6. Test liquid conductivity: 16mS+/-0.2mS; 7. Test pressure: 960grams. How it works: The liquid moisture management properties of fabrics depend on their water resistance, water repellency, water absorption capacity, fiber and yarn capillary action, and fiber and yarn geometry and internal structure. The liquid moisture management tester can measure the water absorption, penetration and penetration time of fabrics, and can objectively evaluate the three-dimensional moisture diffusion and transfer characteristics of fabrics. The instrument consists of two upper and lower concentric sensors. First, the sample is fixed horizontally between the sensors with a fixed pressure, and then the standard test solution is delivered to the surface of the sample for testing. The computer can dynamically record the resistance changes of the upper and lower sensors. Test principle: When the fabric sample is placed horizontally, after the liquid water contacts the soaking surface of the fabric, the liquid water will diffuse along the soaking surface of the fabric, and transfer from the soaking surface of the fabric to the permeable surface. Process is a function of time. When the sample is soaked in water and the test liquid is dropped, the sensor in close contact with the sample is used to measure the dynamic transfer of liquid water, and a series of performance indicators are calculated to evaluate the performance of textiles such as moisture absorption, quick drying and perspiration. . Put the sample into the instrument with the skin-contacting side facing up, and pour a certain amount of normal saline on the center of the fabric-contacting side to simulate the process of sweating from the human body. Sensors on both sides of the sample measure their water conductivity in each ring (5mm, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm and 30mm in diameter). The wettability and water conductivity of the fabric increased after the test was cycled for 2 minutes. Through a series of calculations, the tester can obtain accurate readings of the wetting time, water absorption rate, wetting radius and diffusion rate of the skin-contacting fabric, as well as the cumulative one-way transfer capacity and the fabric's overall liquid moisture management capacity (OMMC) . The transfer index and overall liquid moisture management capabilities have attracted the attention of many technical fabric manufacturers. Research has shown that using these numbers and those provided by the Liquid Moisture Management Tester“fingerprint”, the user can classify the fabric into 7 levels: waterproof, water repellent, slow absorption/slow drying, fast absorption/slow drying, fast absorption/fast drying, moisture penetration and liquid moisture management. After classifying the fabrics according to their final application, users can compare different fabrics by the index measured by the Liquid Moisture Management Tester. At this point, people know which fabric is required by the environment, without having to carry out tedious physiological tests.

What Are the ISTA Standard Tests and ISTA Testing Equipment?
ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) standard tests are globally recognized transportation packaging test procedures designed to evaluate the safety and reliability of products and their packaging throughout the logistics chain. By simulating real-world transportation conditions such as drops, vibration, impact, stacking, and compression, ISTA testing helps identify potential packaging weaknesses before products enter large-scale distribution. ISTA testing equipment—including drop testers, vibration testers, incline impact machines, and compression testers—plays a critical role in accurately reproducing these conditions under laboratory settings. Proper selection and use of ISTA-compliant equipment enable manufacturers to reduce transportation damage, lower return costs, enhance packaging design, and improve customer confidence in product quality and logistics safety.
