Oxygen index tester refers to an instrument that measures the oxygen concentration (volume percent) required during the combustion process of textiles, plastics, paper, rubber and other products. The oxygen index value is the volume percentage of the lowest oxygen in the oxygen and nitrogen mixture that the substance can keep burning for 50mm or burning time of 2min after ignition. Test principle: Place the sample vertically in a quartz glass cylinder filled with oxygen and nitrogen, generally ignite the sample from the top, and observe the combustion state of the sample at the same time; if the material continues to burn, observe whether it can maintain combustion for 60s. At the same time, observe whether the distance of the flame spread reaches the distance required by the standard.
