Comparison and Analysis of Standard for Color Fastness to Dry Cleaning of Textiles

The current national standard for evaluating the color fastness to dry cleaning of textile and clothing products is GB/T5711–1997 'Color fastness of textiles to dry cleaning', the most influential foreign test method standards for evaluating this index are ISO 105-D01:2010 and AATCC TM 132–2009. GB/T5711–The 1997 equivalent adopted ISO105-D01:1993, which has now been superseded by ISO 105-D01:2010. In order to explore the differences of test standards in evaluating the color fastness of textiles to dry cleaning, 10 samples were selected in this paper, respectively according to GB/T5711–1997 and ISO 105-D01:2010 standards for experimental analysis. Test equipment and materials Test materials: corrosion-resistant stainless steel discs, undyed cotton twill, perchloroethylene, standard interlining fabric monofilament series and multi-fiber (DW type) for color fastness testing, gray sample card for assessing discoloration , Evaluation of staining with gray sample card, colorimetric tube. In the test process, the 10 samples are respectively in accordance with GB/T5711–1997, ISO 105-D01:2010 specifies testing. Among them, when tested according to ISO 105-D01:2010, the standard lining fabrics are respectively selected from cotton, viscose, silk, wool, polyester, nylon and multi-fiber (DW type) as required. Use the gray sample card to evaluate the discoloration, solvent staining of the sample and the staining grade of the standard backing fabric. Analysis From the data, it can be seen that for most samples, the results obtained according to ISO 105-D01:2010 are generally better than GB/T5711–The 1997 test yielded good results. In my country, GB/T5711-1997 is widely cited in the product standards of woven garments as a test method for evaluating the color fastness to dry cleaning, such as GB/T2664–2009 'Men's Suits and Coats', GB/T2665-2009 'Women's Suits and Coats', FZ/T81010-2009 'Trench Coats', FZ/T81008-2004 'Jackets', etc. These product standards are all excellent products for the evaluation indicators of color fastness to dry cleaning.≥Grade 4-5, First Class≥Grade 4, qualified product≥Level 3-4. However, if the color fastness to dry cleaning of the sample is tested according to the ISO 105-D01:2010 standard, the results will be greatly changed when evaluated according to the existing product standards, or even the change of the evaluation conclusion, that is, part of the qualified The new test results will meet the requirements of first-class or even superior products, and there will be many unqualified samples that will meet the requirements of current product standards for dry-cleaning color fastness, and even Meet the first-class requirements. In the standardization activities of our country, our country will generally formulate our own standards based on the existing international standards (including the international standards that will be formulated soon). GB/T5711–1997 is equivalent to adopting ISO105-D01:1993. ISO 105-D01:2010 replaced ISO 105-D01:1993 on 2010-05-01, so GB/T5711 will be revised according to the new international standard ISO 105-D01:2010. should be equivalent. In this way, the update of the aforementioned test standards for color fastness to dry cleaning will have an impact on the evaluation conclusions of many products. As far as the current technical means for evaluating the color fastness of textiles to dry cleaning are concerned, ISO 105-D01:2010 uses a standard backing fabric to evaluate the staining of the color fastness to dry cleaning of the samples, abandoning the previous evaluation of the staining grade of reagents after dry cleaning. The practice represents a new development trend. At present, the vast majority of dry cleaning reagents are tetrachloroethylene. The used tetrachloroethylene is distilled into a clean tetrachloroethylene washing solution after being distilled by the dry cleaning machine distillation system, and it will be a clean washing solution when it is used next time. Therefore, from a practical point of view, it is necessary to evaluate the stain level of the reagent after dry cleaning. approach is meaningless. In a dry cleaning process, it is very possible for clothes of multiple colors to be mixed and washed, so it is common for the dyes peeled off from the clothes to contaminate other clothes. The practice of color grading has better practical value. Another influential test standard of the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists, AATCC TM 132, adopted this method very early. Conclusions and Recommendations Current National Standard GB/T5711–1997 will result in some technical content“originally met the requirements”of fabrics are discarded, or require additional dyeing and finishing processes, which can lead to the use of“threshold”Unnecessary elevation and the consumption of unnecessary water, electricity, steam, labor and other resources in the additional dyeing and finishing process, this is a certain deviation from the current state advocacy of reducing energy consumption and saving energy, and is not suitable for the current“low carbon”trend. It should be revised according to new technological development trends and released for implementation as soon as possible. In order to avoid the occurrence of similar situations, it is recommended that the relevant technical committees in the country strengthen communication, and keep abreast of and grasp the technical trends of the relevant international standardization organizations, so as to discover, study and solve the technical connection problems between the relevant standards in advance, so that the standards can be implemented after the release. The time and technical content are more suitable for our national conditions, better promote the improvement of our product quality, and then promote economic development.
