Ensuring the safety of drinking water, analytical instruments help water environment monitoring

On July 4, the News Office of Xinyu Municipal Government and the Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau jointly held a press conference on environmental protection work in Xinyu City, and carried out a press release on environmental protection work in the city and hot environmental issues of public concern since 2015. Emphasizes the two aspects of water quality supervision and air pollution, and strengthens response measures to these two aspects.  How to ensure the safety of drinking water sources?   After the incident of abnormal water quality in the third water plant, everyone paid more attention to urban drinking water sources. So what is the current status of drinking water sources in Xinyu City? According to reports, the Xinyu City Environmental Monitoring Station conducts routine monitoring of water quality at the centralized drinking water sources of two water plants in Xinyu City (the Kongmu River No. 4 Water Plant and the Fairy Lake No. 3 Water Plant) every month, and conducts a full analysis of 109 items once a year. . Monitoring data in 2015 showed that the annual average value of each project in the two centralized drinking water sources in Xinyu City did not exceed the standard, and the water quality qualification rate of the two water sources was 100%.   Since January 2016, the monthly monitoring data of centralized drinking water sources will be released on the website of Xinyu Environmental Protection Bureau in a timely manner. From January to March 2016, the water quality met the requirements of surface water Class III; in April, the water quality of the Fairy Lake was polluted upstream, which caused the water quality of the water source of the Three Water Plant to exceed the standard for cadmium. At present, three heavy metal indicators such as cadmium are manually monitored every month. Judging from the monitoring data in May and June, the water quality of the centralized drinking water sources of the third and fourth water plants are all up to the standard.   There are currently 3 automatic water quality monitoring stations in Xinyu City (the third water plant water quality automatic station, the fourth water plant water quality automatic station and the Jiaoyuan water quality automatic station), and there are 12 monitoring items. In order to do a good job in the early warning of water quality safety, the Xinyu Municipal Government has increased its investment in environmental monitoring capacity building, renovated and upgraded the existing automatic water quality monitoring stations, and added water quality comprehensive toxicity online analyzers, water quality heavy metal online analyzers, and water quality arsenic online Three types of online water quality monitoring equipment, including analyzers, ensure the safety of our drinking water sources.   In order to prevent and control water pollution, the first is to carry out pollution control of industrial enterprises, conduct a comprehensive inventory of enterprises in the Yuanhe and Kongmujiang river basins, and strictly control industrial wastewater pollution. The second is to promote the division of 4 rural water source protection areas with a daily water supply of more than 1,000 tons, complete the withdrawal of small (2) and above reservoirs involving drinking water sources from contracted aquaculture, and implement human stocking. Third, starting from this year, newly expanded and reconstructed large-scale livestock and poultry farms will implement rain and sewage diversion and resource utilization of manure and sewage, strengthen the environmental protection approval and environmental management of new and expanded projects of large-scale livestock and poultry farms, and increase law enforcement.
