Glow wire testing machine heating parts replacement steps and precautions

The glow wire test is the main test item to test the flame resistance of electrical and electronic products, and it is an important basis for judging whether the material can be used in harsh environments. The glow wire test machine itself is actually a fixed specification resistance wire ring. Heat to the specified temperature, so that the tip of the glow-wire heating element is in contact with the sample for the standard required time. Glow wire heating parts mainly have an outer diameter of 4.00mm±0.07mm (front-end bending) nickel/chromium (in which the nickel content is greater than 77%, and the chromium content is between 19% and 21%) U-shaped heating wire and armored thermocouple. Since electrical and electronic products have corresponding requirements for fire tests, the glow-wire test will be more frequent, and the glow-wire heating components are also easily damaged. The service life of the glow-wire heating components is about 3 to 4 months. Wire instruments are checked to ensure the accuracy of the test results. During the calibration process before the test, if it is found that the temperature does not go up or the size of the heating part is reduced more, the heating part should be replaced in time. The general process needs to replace the thermocouple and U-shaped heating wire. The specific steps are as follows: 1. Turn off the power. 2. Break off the thermocouple to prevent damage. 3. Loosen the copper column screw and tap the U-shaped heating head with the end of the screwdriver to loosen it. 4. Clamp the root of the U-shaped heating head with the pliers and slowly pry it out, paying attention to the parallel symmetry on both sides. 5. Put in a new U-shaped heating wire and press and fix it. 6. Check the 7mm limit and adjust the 7mm limit. 7. After fixing the U-shaped heating wire, install the thermocouple, connect the thermocouple well, pass through the gap in the middle of the U-shaped heating wire, and insert the thermocouple head into the small hole in the head of the U-shaped heating wire. Better, the angle at which the thermocouple head is inserted should be slightly at a certain angle with the horizontal plane, so that the thermocouple has a forward force against the small hole, as shown in the figure below, in order to achieve the purpose of fixing and make the heating more sufficient. 8. After the heating parts are installed, the temperature measurement system of the heating parts needs to be calibrated. A single-point confirmation of the temperature is accomplished by placing a piece of silver foil with a purity of at least 99.8%, an area of 2mm2, and a thickness of 0.06mm on the surface of the top of the heating element. 9. After placing the silver foil, heat the glow wire tester at an appropriate heating rate. When the silver foil begins to melt, the temperature of the heating part should display 960°C±15°C. Precautions 1. Precautions for the use of the U-shaped head: 1. The glow wire head is not covered by the warranty, please pay attention to the safety of use. 2. Do not disassemble and assemble easily after installation, be careful not to collide, and usually pay attention to cleaning and maintenance (alcohol rag). 3. When heating the glow wire, do not heat it too fast. 4. During the heating and cooling process, it is necessary to take it slowly, so that the protection of the glow wire head will be better. 5. When using it for one or two months, pay attention to the calibration of the U-shaped head of the glow wire. 6. In principle, there is no problem for one year, but if some companies use it improperly or use it frequently, it may be replaced every few months. 2. Precautions for the use of thermocouples: 1. Thermocouples are not covered by the warranty, please pay attention to the safety of use. 2. Do not disassemble and assemble easily after installation, and be careful not to collide. 3. When the test is at high temperature, the thermocouple is relatively brittle and easy to break. Be careful not to collide with the thermocouple. 4. During the heating and cooling process, it is necessary to take it slowly, so that the thermocouple protection will be better. 5. In principle, one year is no problem. Some companies can use it for two or three years without replacing it. However, if it is used improperly or the frequency of use is high, it may be replaced once a few months.
