Test method for performance of filter gas mask canister

Subject content and scope of application This standard specifies the test methods for the anti-virus performance and physical properties of the filter gas mask canister (hereinafter referred to as the canister). This standard applies to the performance testing and evaluation of filter gas mask canisters: other related products can also be referred to. Reference standard GB 2890 General technical conditions for filter gas masks GB 7702.10 Determination of effective protection time of coal-based granular activated carbon General method Test operation Open the compressed air (or negative pressure suction) piston, use the piston (K1) to adjust the total air flow; use the piston (K2 and K3) adjust the humidity of the air flow; adjust the gas flow of the canister with the piston (K9). Slowly open the piston (K4) and the piston on the evaporator (or cylinder), adjust the liquid column height difference of the flow meter (K5) to the position where the concentration has been corrected in advance, and record the test time with a stopwatch. Determination method of mixed gas poisoning agent concentration: a. Gravimetric method: Weigh the weight of the evaporator before and after the test with a balance (accurate to 0.05g). The concentration of the mixed gas poisoning agent is calculated according to the formula (1): in the formula: c——Concentration of mixed gas poisoning agent, mg/L; m1——The weight of the evaporator before the test, g; m2——Weight of steamer after test, g; t——Evaporator opening time, min; V——Air flow, L/min. The chemical absorption method uses two absorption bottles to fill 25mL of absorption solution, and connect them to the DX-1 type device in series (see Figure 1). Open the piston (K6) and the mixed gas passes through the absorption bottle at a speed of 50~100mL/min, and measure the ventilation volume with a lower-mouth bottle and a graduated cylinder or a flowmeter. The gas volume through the absorption bottle for each test is between 1.5 and 3.0 L. At the end of the test, close the piston (K6), remove the absorption bottle, transfer the absorption liquid into the conical flask, measure the poisoning dose of the absorption liquid by chemical analysis, and calculate the concentration of the mixed gas poisoning agent vapor according to the volume of the water discharged from the lower mouth bottle. . Determination of Toxic Agent Vapor Permeation Canister——Indication method Put 20mL indicator solution in the indicator bottle, connect it to the DX-1 type test device (see Figure 1), and use 1.0±The speed of 0.1mL/min is passed through, and the test end point is judged according to the color change of the indicator when the trace poison penetrates the canister; it can also be measured by instrument. Close (K4) after the test, and continue to purge the instrument with clean air for 20min. Test results The poison concentration of each test should be effective within the specified range. The anti-virus time measured under the test concentration is converted into the anti-virus time under the standard concentration according to formula (2): where t——Antivirus time of the canister, min; t1——Antivirus time under test concentration, min; c1——Toxic agent concentration in mixed gas during the test, mg/L; c0——The specified standard concentration, mg/L. What Are the ISTA Standard Tests and ISTA Testing Equipment?
ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) standard tests are globally recognized transportation packaging test procedures designed to evaluate the safety and reliability of products and their packaging throughout the logistics chain. By simulating real-world transportation conditions such as drops, vibration, impact, stacking, and compression, ISTA testing helps identify potential packaging weaknesses before products enter large-scale distribution. ISTA testing equipment—including drop testers, vibration testers, incline impact machines, and compression testers—plays a critical role in accurately reproducing these conditions under laboratory settings. Proper selection and use of ISTA-compliant equipment enable manufacturers to reduce transportation damage, lower return costs, enhance packaging design, and improve customer confidence in product quality and logistics safety.
How to Choose Light Fastness Tester: Water-Cooled and Air-Cooled
Choosing between water-cooled and air-cooled light fastness testers depends on precision needs, budget, and application. Water-cooled testers (like GESTER GT-3000) offer superior spectral accuracy and stability for rigorous standards (e.g., automotive, coatings). Air-cooled models (like GESTER GT-D02A-1) provide energy efficiency and easier installation for routine QC. This guide compares cooling methods, features, and applications to help you select the optimal tester.
What Are the Types of Color Fastness Testing for Fabrics?
Color fastness testing evaluates how well fabrics resist fading or bleeding under conditions like washing, rubbing, light exposure, and perspiration. Key tests include rubbing fastness, washing fastness, light fastness, perspiration fastness, and sublimation fastness. These tests ensure textiles maintain color integrity, prevent health risks, and meet quality standards. Learn about different testing methods and equipment used in the textile industry.
