What Is a Heat Transfer Index Tester?

A Heat Transfer Index Tester is laboratory testing equipment used to evaluate how quickly thermal energy is transmitted through protective materials when exposed to a specified flame heat source.


For protective clothing and heat-resistant materials, heat transmission performance is an important consideration because the material structure can influence how rapidly heat reaches the side facing the wearer.
