Why Glove Tear Resistance Matters?
A work glove with poor tear resistance may split when caught on sharp metal edges, exposing hands to cuts, abrasion or high‑temperature hazards. Similarly, thermal‑protective gloves for welding or hot‑part handling that tear easily can cause thermal burns and severe safety incidents.

EN 388 & EN 407 Standards for Glove Tear Testing
EN 388Mechanical Risks
Includes abrasion, cut,tear and puncture resistance.The GT-KO1 tearing tester is used forEN 388 tear resistance testing. Reports measured tear force and assigns full performance Level 1‑4 grading.
EN 407 Thermal Risks
Includes a tear resistancerequirement for heat protectiongloves. The test procedure isequivalent to EN 388.
Minimum tear resistance:10 N (Level 1).
