Method for testing the wear resistance of shoe upper materials

This article mainly uses Taber abrasion tester to conduct actual testing and analysis of the wear resistance of soft leather, artificial leather, synthetic leather, microfiber leather, textiles and other commonly used upper materials, focusing on the selection of test conditions such as grinding wheel model and load. And clear, in order to provide a reference for standardizing related testing work and further formulating industry standards, and expect to expand the application of international advanced testing methods in footwear quality testing. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology [2011] No. 165 'Notice on Printing and Distributing the Third Batch of Industry Standards Preparation and Revision Plan in 2011The plan number of the industry standard is 2011-2639T-QB. The drafting group is composed of the Inspection and Quarantine Technology Center of Fujian Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the National Footwear Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Wenzhou), etc., responsible for drafting the industry standard . At present, the drafting of the standard has entered the stage of submission for review, and part of the verification data in this article comes from this standard-making project. The principle of the test is that the test sample is placed on a rotating platform, and the two friction wheels above it are driven to roll by the rotating platform. The friction wheels perform a rotating friction movement with the sample under a certain load to wear the sample. One friction wheel faces outward, and the other friction wheel faces inward to rub the specimen. The wear trace is an overlapping ring. After the specified number of friction cycles, the graded evaluation is carried out according to the surface wear of the sample and the degree of color change. Sample preparation Take 5 common types of shoe upper materials, including soft leather, artificial leather, synthetic leather, super-fiber leather, and textiles, as test samples. Take 3 representative samples of each type for testing, and each test sample has its own Cut out 8 round specimens with a diameter of (106±1) mm to be tested, and fold the specimens to be tested twice in half, then cut off the overlapping corners with scissors to form a circular hole with a diameter of 6 mm in the center. The test conditions are tested under the conditions of temperature (20 ± 2) ℃ and humidity (65% ± 5%). Before the test, the sample should be placed in the standard environment required by GB/T22049-2008 'Shoes, Footwear and Footwear Components Environmental Regulation and Test Environment' [2], and adjust for more than 4 hours. The test procedure fixes the sample face up on the rotating platform, and installs the selected grinding wheel on the supporting rod. After selecting the appropriate load, put down the supporting rod, make the grinding wheel contact the surface of the sample, connect and open the dust suction device. Start the instrument and test according to the number of revolutions set by the counter. For shoe upper materials, 500 times of friction are uniformly adopted. After the test, remove the sample, check and record the abrasion of the sample, and use the gray sample card to evaluate the test area in accordance with GB/T 250-2008 'Textile color fastness test evaluation gray sample card for discoloration' [3] Color change and color fastness grade. Conclusion By testing and analyzing the wear resistance of five types of commonly used upper materials including soft leather, artificial leather, synthetic leather, microfiber leather and textiles, the following conclusions are drawn: (1) For soft leather uppers For the wear resistance test of the material, CS17 grinding wheel and 1000g test load should be used; for the wear resistance test of artificial leather, synthetic leather and textile shoe upper materials, the H18 grinding wheel and 500g test load should be used; for microfiber leather For the wear resistance test of the shoe upper material, it is advisable to use the H18 grinding wheel and 1000g test load. (2) The order of the wear resistance of the 5 types of commonly used shoe upper materials is roughly as follows: microfiber leather>artificial leather>synthetic leather>textile>natural leather. When designing and developing the upper of footwear products, we can make reasonable selection and matching according to the wear resistance of various upper materials, so as to achieve the purpose of effectively improving the durability and wearing life of footwear products. . (3) The Taber abrasion tester method is suitable for the abrasion resistance test of various commonly used shoe upper materials. The principle is scientific, the test steps are reasonable and standardized and easy to operate. The test result evaluation is more realistic, and the test can be formed on this basis. Standard specifications for evaluating the wear resistance of various footwear materials. More about leather testing equipment: http://www.standard-groups.com/
